The Tests and Trials of Life

“God will not permit any troubles to come upon us, unless He has a specific plan by which a great blessing can come out of the difficult.” – Peter Marshall

There are two ways of getting rid of a trial. One is to simply try to get rid of it and be thankful when it’s over. The other is to recognize the trial as a challenge from God to claim a larger blessing then we have ever had.

Sometimes God removes our trials, and it isn’t necessarily wrong to ask Him to do that, but often the trials remain, and when they do, we should accept them and ask God to teach us from them.

Besides the Peter Marshall quote, the above is from the late-great Rev. Billy Graham and his devotional Hope for Today. Graham tells us that through the suffering, the tests and trials of life, we can draw near to God.

Today, we’ll are all dealing with the same trial with COVID-19, but are you facing a second trial at the same time, too?

–You are now your kids’ English, Math, Science and P.E. teacher.
–You are your significant other are BOTH working from home.
–You are cooking three meals a day instead of one.
–The laundry keeps piling higher and higher.
–You have to fix the garbage disposal yourself because your fiance can’t come over to help you.

Take a deep breath in for four seconds, hold it for four seconds and take four seconds to let it out. I heard that’s a trick the Navy Seals use.

Friends – I pray that you will be filled with strength, patience and comfort as we all navigate these uncharted waters. Make your requests known to God so that He can help you through this.

Pray for those who are sick and for those working the front lines right now, and I’m not just talking about medical staff. While some of us have the ability to work from home, others are not in a position where they are so lucky.

Don’t forget to say THANK YOU!

Take time to thank that worker at your local grocery store, the gas station or even the postal worker who delivered your dog food from Amazon because you couldn’t get it anywhere else.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We’re all in this together. God bless you all. Be safe.

A little bit about the photo:
The reason I chose this particular photo for thee main image was because I felt it represented “letting go and letting God” take over our lives. The young lady in the photo exhibits the feeling we should all get when we fully trust God.
