ICYMI, Valentine’s Day was earlier this week, and on average, Americans were predicted to spend $164 (which is down from $196 in 2020). That sounds about right for me when you factor in the four different gifts and dinner.

What’s funny to me is receiving gifts is my lowest scoring love language, coming in at 7%, according to Gary Chapman’s The 5 Love Languages® quiz. Words of Affirmation was my highest at 30%. This sounds about right, as I like to know that I’m doing a good job, personally or professionally.
If you’ve never heard of The 5 Love Languages or never taken the quiz, I highly recommend it. It takes 5 minutes and it’s free. Go to http://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes and click on the “What’s your Love Language®?” quiz.
“The premise of The 5 Love Languages® book is quite simple: different people with different personalities give and receive love in different ways. By learning to recognize these preferences in yourself and in your loved ones, you can learn to identify the root of your conflicts, connect more profoundly, and truly begin to grow closer.” – from 5lovelanguages.com
The 5 Love Languages® concept isn’t’ just for couples – it’s for friends, family, coworkers and even your kids! As a mom and bonus mom, I loved trying to figure out the love languages of all the kids so I could show up in the best way possible for them. For the most part, they were all different!
Today, I encourage you to learn more about the people in your life. Take the quiz together. There’s a few other quizzes on there, too.
Until next time,
